Tidus wasn't so bad. I don't get what you're complaining about. His clothes were a little weird but it's a fantasy game, if they wore t-shirts and jeans it'd look a little out of place. I found Wakka more annoying than Tidus.
EDIT: He threw the equivalent of footballs for major damage, for crying out loud!

Depending on what Ark meant when he said "enemy", as Ark was a Survivor Toasters could very well be a mafia member.
